Hey Gifters!  It’s time to discover 5 new products and the joy of what organic products can do for your daily life! Not only do these products pamper you with the goodness of nature, but they also support sustainable living practices.

Last week, my two girls and I tested our new body lotion, body wash, and hand salves. So, in the reviews this week I will add in a few tidbits from both of them.  I also wanted to share a brief look into my life.  As many of you know our youngest is currently in treatments for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. One night before bed this week, she asked me a question about the products she currently uses, and if I thought it could cause her to get another form of cancer. My heart sunk. I want nothing more than for her not to deal with these big feelings and situations.  A moms’ knee jerk reaction would be “Of course they won’t, or oh don’t worry about things like that, or you don’t need to think about that.”  I didn’t say those things to her, because we have zero control over cancer, she should be considering things like that!  Cancer doesn’t care if you have had it before or not, if you’re 11, 26 or 52, it can affect anyone at anytime.  Yikes, right?  Sorry, this is our life and realization after July 2023.  So instead, I said “I’m not sure, but we can start finding products that make you feel safer to use!”  So we cleared out her bathroom and started fresh. She’s worried, we all are but we can’t constantly worry about what hasn’t happened yet.  We have to do our best to keep putting one foot in front of the other and make the next best choice.

Luckily, the products Daffodil & Alder have are really great! I try very hard to use eco-friendly and cancer friendly products.  Some people will of course say, well this shirt, jelly, pair of jeans or notebook isn’t perfectly organic or made 100% with eco-friendly ingredients.   Here’s the thing we can only do our best and keep moving forward.  I will do my best to offer a range of products that are EWG verified as well as organic but not rated products.  Educating ourselves as we go and helping do the best we can do everyday.   Let’s get started!

Jen’s 💭 ~ I am terrible at using lotion.  My skin screams for it, and I am trying to be better.  With my inability to get into a lotion routine, I typically choose unscented creams, because the scents would over power me.  I was a bit nervous of trying another scented item, but honestly the scent was soft and didn’t overpower my sinuses.  I feel natural smelling items are wonderful for people with a sensitivity to smell.  The lotion was creamy and a small amount covered my hands.  I was worried the consistency of the lotion would be on the thin side but it wasn’t, and I was relieved. 

2. Our Lemongrass Hand & Cuticle Salve: this salve provides a unique blend of natural oils coupled with organic beeswax to provide vitamins, nutrients, and protection from the daily grind.  The essential oils provide a fresh, clean scent that awakens the senses and clears the mind. Jen’s 💭 ~ Alright, I LOVE cuticle oils!  Weird thing to love, but if I’m terrible at lotion you can imagine how I treat my nails… So, adding this cuticle salve is essential and it works like a charm.  Just rub your finger pad around and then put it on your cuticles or dry spots.  I’ve used it on my knees, the top of my hands, and my toes!  M’s thought was that she had rub it a bit more then expected to get enough on her fingers for application, but she thought it smelled great!

Jen’s 💭 ~ We all agree that our skin feels softer after using it.  I normally use a cream body wash, but this was a happy switch.  We all love the scent, it smells strong enough to give you that fresh out of the shower smell, yet not overpowering.

Jen’s 💭 ~ This is a big switch for me because I am very minimalist when it comes to my keys.  Though I can never seem to find them in my purse… so having the option to slide them on my wrist is a big bonus!  The material is soft and adorable (I’m using the puppy love print)!  It is a perfect addition for everyones keys, anyone who seems to lose their keys,  or a even new driver!  I did transfer my keys to the ring on this keychain to help reduce bulk of my key ring now.
